Windsor homes second cheapest

Windsor has been ranked among the most affordable cities in Canada in which to buy a house, according to yet another survey.
Conducted on behalf of MSN.com, Windsor was ranked second with an average house price of $163,963 in August, which is up just 1.2 per cent from the same month a year ago.
Only Trois-Rivieres with an average of $154,284 was ranked ahead of Windsor on the affordability scale.
Others in the top 10 among affordable cities were Saint John, $169,024; Thunder Bay, $172,307; Saguenay, $188,781; Sudbury, $221,451; Sherbrooke, $222,758; London/St. Thomas, $227,038: Winnipeg, $236,306 and Gatineau, $238,312.
The most expensive city in which to buy a house remains Vancouver at $778,545 followed by Victoria, $536,631; Fraser Valley, $507,750; Toronto, $451,663; Calgary, $394,251; Ottawa, $339,415; Edmonton, $325,322; Hamilton/Burlington, $321,036; Montreal, $318,567 and Saskatoon, $315,774.
Two earlier surveys ranked Windsor as the most affordable city in Canada - the Conference Board of Canada and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
